Additional Supports and Services
At Taylor Elementary School, we offer all students many opportunities to build skills that foster academic and social success.
As part of the School Counseling Support Services, your child may be recommended to participate in a small group inside and/or outside the classroom setting. This regular education programming provides supplemental, school counseling instruction in order to assist students with specific social/emotional/behavioral skill development. This type of support is designed to enhance, not replace, your child’s regular education programming. Student selection is made using a variety of criteria, including classroom teacher recommendations. For example, some students are selected in order to serve as role models for others. Please do not worry if your child is recommended to participate in one of our many small group activities. Our goal is to foster all students’ social/emotional/behavioral growth. Children may participate on a revolving basis and are reassessed at various points in the year to determine whether they continue to benefit from these support services.
